Two Door Cinema Club

two door cinema club

Kevin Baird, Alex Trimble, and Sam Halliday have been creating some awesome songs in the past couple years.  Hailing from Northern Ireland they go by Two Door Cinema Club.  Taking a step back from the EDM scene we bring you a band, like many others, who are responsible for making the EDM scene what it is today.  Without traditional bands, singers, and artists we would not have some of my most favorite electronic remixes, collabs, and productions.  These guys came out with their debut album in 2010 and have made quite a few gems since.  Probably my favorite song at this point in time was first heard in The Magician‘s mix, Magic Tape 28, which is an Alex Metric remix of “Sun“.  I know there are those out there who aren’t that into the “indie/hipster” scene or music, but honestly give this one a listen!  I definitely have a soft spot for some great vocals and piano, whether it maybe chill nu disco, house, or dnb.  Moulinex has a great take on “I Can Talk” electrifying the original with a great beat.  “What You Know” is an excellent original from the group showing off their great guitar skills and catchy vocals.  The Twelves do some justice remixing their original “Something Good Can Work”  being an excellent group themselves out of Brazil.  Ames and I were able to see The Twelves a few months ago here in Denver and they played an awesome show down at the Marquis!  Enjoy the super chilled out sounds from this Irish indie group and the wonderful remixes!  Gotta switch it up every once in awhile.

The Twelves

So Barney and I had the pleasure of watching The Twelves last night…. let me be the first to say, they did not disappoint. Let me rephrase…. they. were. AWESOME. I’m still kind of drunk, and don’t really feel like writing some sort of long post…. so ima drop some songs here to listen to…  Indie classic Rich Girls by The Virgins gets a face lift. Yelle’s weird poppy track Ce Jeu receives a french electro treatment. Something Good Can Work, the smash hit from Two Door Cinema Club doesn’t escape the touch of The Twelves either….. Groove Armada? Yup. And lets not forget their EPIC 2 hour essential mix from a few years back….. These Brazilians are here to stay, in a big big way. HAPPY FRIDAY! woah that all rhymed.

Enjoy!

Felguk

Gustavo Rozenthal and Felipe Lozinsky are the DJ/producer duo that make up one of Brazil’s hottest, up and coming Electro House groups, Felguk! Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, they performed their first big event outside of their home country at Electric Daisy Carnival in 2010, where they also had their hit single on the official trailer!  Since then they have performed at notable big events such as Nocturnal Festival, EDC for a second time, and Tomorrowland!  They currently produce under their own label, Dongle Records, which they started last year in 2011.  Voted #87 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ’s, Felguk has a ton of potential ahead of them!  “Plastic Smile”  featuring Example is definitely my favorite song of theirs! I absolutely love this ferocious track, it starts off right with some epic piano and gets heavy with an electro/dub synth beat, all of which is behind Example‘s filthy rap! If you have ever played the new SSX snowboarding video game, then you probably know this one!  “Side by Side” is a pretty sick track for theirs, bringing in some hot electro glitch sounds that make this one fun and unique!  Note that this includes the intro, hence the title “Side by Side + Intro” so it’s going to start off slow, just to let you know.  “BASSIVE” is a great heavy electro track that straight up thromps! Felguk vs Tim HealeyI’m So Happy”  is an electro take on Nirvana‘s original! This one bumps big and may sound familiar if you’ve listened to Gizmo‘s mix!  Lazy Rich‘s remix of Felguk original “Blow Out” is an awesome song showcasing some more heavy electro synth in such a good way!  Hopefully this can get us over yesterday’s debacle 🙂

GangNam Style, what the fuck is this shit >.<
