Laurent ASH is a very intriguing music producer coming from Paris, France.  He goes by the alias LIFELIKE and began his career back in 2001.  He has a great reputation, having his productions played on BBC Radio 1, Annie Mac, and also releasing songs under the Vulture label founded by Alan Braxe.  LIFELIKE also has some awesome remixes and has toured the world playing festivals to clubs alongside such notable dj’s Fred Falke, Alan Braxe, Richie Hawtin, DJ Falcon, and many others.  He has a very fresh, calm style that can be enjoyed by the likes of many. So sit back, relax and enjoy my favorite remixes from the man.

Coming from the land down under, Flume, has been producing music since the age of 13.  Yea that’s right 13, the kid began his musical obsession with a production program found in a cereal box.  ‘Sleepless’ was his very first EP and damn is it good. I would be surprised if you haven’t heard his first and most famous track from the EP, but just in case I took the liberty of posting it “Sleepless” featuring Jezzabell Doran.  After his first EP, Flume began working on the remix of New Navy‘s anthem “Zimbabwe“, which landed him Triple J’s February mix up exclusive resident.  You can find the music video for the wonderful remix at the bottom of this post.  Flume is now in high demand playing festivals and shows all over Australia along with working on a new album release.  “On Top” featuring T.Shirt (great name by the way) is a super chill track with some great vocals giving it more of a hip hop feel.  “Holding On”  is truly an awesome production that brings in some high quality soul.  “I Met You” a collaboration done with Anna Lunoe,  is once again an excellent song, keeping a chill tempo with some beautiful vocals.  Ames also posted a couple of great songs from the man himself awhile back under the Future Classic post (Flume‘s Label), which can be found here.  Sit back, relax and chill out to some epic tunes!

Bag Raiders

So it’s been a while…. Figured I’d do a classic post, on a classic group, with a CLASSIC song. What better choice than Australian synth electro masters: The Bag Raiders. I was reminded of this duo when they released a new mix last week (grab it here), and, much to my surprise we’ve never done a post on them!?! Their hit Shooting Stars took the electro world by storm like 3 years ago, and it still sounds fresh today. I forgot how much I love this track! A similar feel is found with their other EPIC hit Not Over. I love the 80’s pop synth sound these guys bang with, and this song is further proof that synth pop is AWESOME. They can pull off the obligatory indie remix as well. Check out their funky rework of Cut Copy’s Far Away. Lastly, I Won’t Let Go is a great deep house track that takes an awesome disco vibe towards the end.
