Maluu

So I guess tonight I’m on a bit of a mashup kick… Hailing from Seattle, WA this kid can BANG the electro dub kings with the best of ’em. First up, he JAMS Feed Me, Skrillex, Dillon Francis, and Clockwork into one epic banger. If you are in a rush, and need to play a lot of tracks quickly look to One Bang Hulkshot. Next up, he throws Knife Party into the mix with My Pink Reptile Party. I gotta run to catch the Rockies game tonight, but last up is my favorite. An Alvin Risk and Skrilly combo, Ruffneck Returns bangs. HARD. Party like its the weekend, ’cause it is! Maluu DESTROYS tracks.

Enjoy!

3LAU

So stoked to do a Justin Blau post! the newest remix of Zedd’s Spectrum is a highlight of the amazing EP. I’m not typically a trance guy, but Blau pulls it off nicely. I love his Guilty Pleasure bootleg. It’s a surprise in a world of mediocre mashups. Lets face it, most “mashups” are nothing more than a sweet mix on the decks. It’s typically a great moment live, but subpar when recorded. This is where 3LAU shines, Guilty Pleasure is a bootlegged mashup BEGGING for recording, this track rocks. In his monster mash of Lick It, the Skrillex and Kaskade tune, he provides the epiccccc disco funk. This track is ULTRA clean, and keeps on coming with the fattest synth I’ve heard in a minute. Lastly, I’ve leave you with my personal favorite of the recent work, H8 is absolutely disgusting! It teases in true prog house style, and drops in a groovedown. Mixing new hits together never sounded so good, 3LAU does it right. Every Damn Time.

Enjoy!

Madeon

The world was taken by storm when Hugo Leclercq released a video on youtube of his launchpad unleashing 39 tracks in 3 minutes. The Pop Culture video (included below) went viral with nearly 12 million hits, and ever since the 18 year old French kid has blown up stages alongside SHM (R.I.P) and other big name EDM artists. His newest mashup for Annie Mac’s radio show (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006wqdc) manages to squeeze over 90 songs in just over five minutes. He has a unique abilty to mashup songs quickly while avoiding the typical mashup pitfalls; More specifically, he creates a new sound rather than simply two interlaced songs played at the same time. His ability to remix a single track is showcased wonderfully in his piano-ridden disco take on Martin Solveig’s The Night Out. To top it all off, Madeon is no slouch when it comes to original production either. His track Icarus shows off his production ability, and proves he can do much more than mashup. The track is a unique blend of disco and electro house, and the end result is a truly nasty sound!

Enjoy!
