Singularity

Alright, it’s time for my first post of the new year **cracks knuckles.** Being out of the loop for a few weeks had my inbox piling up with a TON of songs that took forever to get all the way through, but now I have a pretty huge stockpile of artists to do posts on and I got some serious quality coming. My pick for today is going to be Singularity. Coming out of LA, this guy has a huge range of tracks and a lot of them I’m really digging. At only 20 years old I’ve got a feeling that we’ll be hearing a lot more from him in the future. The only real background I could find on the producer was that he makes “computer noises,” so let’s dig in to the tracks.

What’s my first pick for 2013? Can you say dirty ass trap? Yes please. Trap remixes do wonders for songs I normally wouldn’t be down for. Once I listened to a trap remix of a Justin Bieber song (not knowing it was him) and I was like “damn, this is pretty sweet.” Then I found out it was a Justin Bieber song and I had to go kill myself. Anyways… The remix of Kanye West’s Clique is one of the more better done trap songs I’ve ever heard. It’s got some serious flow to it and I’ll be pumping it for awhile. Bringing it down a notch, Singularity’s remix of Seven Lions’ Days to Come, is an awesome trip into the trancey side of dubstep. The right amount of bass push to this song accentuates the trance elements perfectly. Another chill dubstep song is the remix of PeaceTreaty’s In Time which will be released on Dim Mak records (Steve Aoki’s label). Finally, the title track from the EP “Breathe” brings a good mix of awesome vocals and a heavier dubstep interlude. 2013!

NAPT

NAPT

Tomek Naden and Ashley Pope make up an electronic dance music production/DJ duo coming out of Britain.  They go by NAPT and have won many awards such as best producer and best track at Breakspoll in 2009 and once again 2010, claiming the first back to back in both categories.  They launched new label Red Sugar Records and have even released some songs on A-Trak‘s Fool’s Gold Records.  Not to mention they have played for radio shows such as BBC Radio One and Annie Mac.  They have a wide variety of music and a ton of tracks out there.  “The Rollers” featuring Skibadee is a heavy hitting electro track that starts disco’d out then gets real nasty!  Their collab with Lucian XPerfect Day” has a great intro that gets dubbed out, making it another great track.  “Emotion Part 2” showcases some more of that heavy electro they are so good at producing.  “King Jitter” begins with some epic vocals and may remind you of a more “housey” track, but don’t be fooled this one gets pretty heavy as well.  “Italian Spiderman” featuring FireFlowerz starts off with a pretty intense beat, but drops into some straight filth halfway through.  “Lock The P” is a great funky song with a pretty epic video, however, the video wasn’t loading correctly from youtube so I’ve included the soundcloud as well, in hopes the vid will work eventually.

Pimpsoul

pimpsoul

Steve Jeffery from Peterborough, Britain is the one and only Pimpsoul, giving some epic love and heart to the electronic genre.  He’s got a solid taste for various genres wether you like to get weird and funky or love that hard bass.  Coming out with some real original remixes of your favorite old school songs, Pimpsoul reels you in like the big catch you are.  So if you grew up in the 90’s and love electronic music, get ready because he’s got some great sounds for ya! “On Point” is an awesome remix from a song way back in the day, with lyrics that go “praise you like you should“, you know who I’m talking bout and if you don’t just listen cuz that boy is fat! His collaboration with DJP We Come One” is another classic remixed into a wonderful track and you best recognize these lyrics.  Not a fan of his classics, well check out some of his heavier tracks, such as his collab with Mooqee featuring Bianca GeraldFeeling Good“, shit is dirtay!  Not heavy enough eh, well he may have a “refunk” of a Knife Party remix of Nero‘s “Crush On You“, bringing the filth, headbanger fo sho! Awwww, shit going to have to switch it up on you again with another Red Hot remix of his called, “Under the Bridge“, sound familiar?  Pimpsoul’s remix of Basement FreaksSomething Freaky” might just be my favorite of all his soundcloud’s, as he finds the perfect beat to rock out with these vocals. YO DAWG, I heard you like Barbara Streisand, that’s right DuckSauce loving the retake of your ever so popular hit!  Oh and last but never least, we have a timeless piece, which you will recognize by the lyrics alone…………..”This Time” ga ga ga, get some! Damn, Eight songs >.< well that should make up for some laziness from the NastyTrack team.  Not to mention our boy Ames is rocking the Bar Standard tomorrow night in Denver, so be sure to hit that up if you want to get down to some epic NuDisco!

Bitch I Might Be…ha ha hammered!
